The medical journal "Pain" is the official publication of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and it publishes original research on the nature, mechanisms and treatment of pain. The journal provides a forum for the dissemination of research in the basic and clinical sciences of multidisciplinary interest.
The IASP is an international, multidisciplinary, non-profit professional association dedicated to furthering research on pain and improving the care of patients with pain. Membership in IASP is open to scientists, physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, and other health professionals actively engaged in pain research and to those who have special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of pain. Currently IASP has 5600 individual members from 83 countries. IASP a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) affiliate of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Pain Clinic focuses on the clinical methods used and the problems involved in the diagnosis and treatment of persistent and recurrent types of pain.
