Rachael Houlton and our Society Board Member and ME patient, Kati, presented a Society FLEX proposal at the UBC FLEX Activity Day. Rachael is a 3rd year UBC Med student who has been collaborating with our Society on our #TimeForUnrest in BC campaign.
FLEX (Flexible and Enhanced Learning) is a series of three courses occurring in Years 1, 2 and 4 of the renewed UBC medical undergraduate program. "FLEX offers undergraduate medical students exciting opportunities to pursue a variety of scholarly activities." FLEX also offers us the opportunity to educate the next generation of doctors about ME!
In order to gather material for her wonderful poster, Rachael solicited responses to a survey she created, which we shared with the community. Thanks so much to the many of you who responded so quickly!
Rachael delivered a 2 minute presentation on our Society in the main auditorium., and throughout the afternoon students were signing up for our email list. The assessment is that the event was a success!
