They did it!!
Lori Root and her son, Ryland, participated on Saturday, 8 September, in the Lake to Lake Walk & Marathon, from Shawnigan Lake to Cowichan Lake, along the Cowichan Valley Trailwalk on Vancouver Island.
Lori was inspired to run in support of her sister, Lisa who lives with severe fibromyalgia. Lori and Ryland ran the 42.2km in 7 hours!
"It was way tougher than I thought! My sister Lisa was very emotional. As I was! My son and I were pretty pooped but very satisfied! A beautiful trail and well organized event."
Along with gathering pledges for donations to our Society, Lori created a fabulous t-shirt for the event: "sweating4mysis ". How cool is that!!
Committed to raising awareness at the event, Lisa and Lori shared information about fibromyalgia and our Society, and gave out plenty of purple ribbons.
Many thanks to Lori, Lisa and Ryland for your wonderful efforts in raising awareness for fibromyalgia, and for raising over $300 in donations for the Society!!
