Many thanks to all of you who joined us on Saturday, 21 September, for our Society's 2-2019 AGM and for an excellent presentation by Dr. Luis Nacul, Medical Director, BC Women's Complex Chronic Diseases Program!
For those of you who were unable to attend in person or online on Saturday, or for those who would simply like/need to see it again, click on the image below to view Dr. Nacul's presentation - Has ME/CFS research helped clinicians and patients? Can we do better? And feel free to share!
For most of the year, our board, volunteers and community interact using all kinds of digital technologies. But twice a year our Society comes together in person - in May and in September - and it's always so wonderful for everyone to meet, greet, hug, see how each other is doing, and share our stories.
Video conferencing and livestreaming technologies have allowed us to be more inclusive, giving more people around the province the opportunity to join us at these events, and allowing those too ill to attend in person to still feel part of our community. These technologies were designed for us! They allowed members to vote remotely in our AGM and others to watch and ask questions in Dr. Nacul's presentation. And they gave our fabulous board member, Sue Khazaie, who was too ill to come in person, the opportunity to participate in our meeting and watch Dr. Nacul's presentation. This is truly amazing!
About 32 minutes into his presenation, Dr. Nacul provides his audience with a 3 minute pacing break, complete with dimmed lights. How great is that!
Dr. Nacul continued after the break, eventually answering many excellent questions. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts for all he has already done and is committing to do for our community in the short time he has been here.
Welcome to Vancouver Dr. Nacul!!!! ❤️🙏❤️
A big thank you to our incredible board and volunteers, most of who are ill or carers, and to Jasica Grewal, our Program Manager, who did a great job organising everyone and everything! And to James Haldane who provided professional livestreaming and video services.
