To help preserve our energy and facilitate the continuation of our work, the Board of Directors will be taking planned breaks from Committee work during the following two-week time frames:
June 26 - July 9, 2022
and
July 24 - August 6, 2022.
Social Support Groups and the phone lines will continue as usual, and we will continue to respond to your inquiries as they come in.
The ME|FM Society of BC relies heavily on unpaid volunteers for its day-to-day functions. Our phone lines are staffed by volunteers who contributed 160 hours in our fiscal year ending March 31, 2022, and we are a working board, having contributed in excess of 2500 of the 4500 total volunteer hours in the same timeframe.
As the Society has no paid admin staff, the Directors create and execute strategic plans, develop and ensure delivery of programs such as the Social Support Groups and the ongoing My MLA and ME campaign, engage in fundraising activities, meet reporting requirements, and recruit volunteers while managing day-to-day functions such as email, social media and website communications.
The Society facilitates the above tasks and more, through its numerous committees which include the:
Advocacy Committee
Communication Committee
Executive Team
Finance Committee
Fundraising Committee
Human Resources Committee
Research Committee
and the newly formed
Education Committee.
