Until February 14, 2025, there is a crucial chance to express your personal views on MAID; varying perspectives will contribute to shaping the framework for MAID in Canada.


Consultation for this survey is sought from:

  • Patients

  • Health care providers

  • First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples

  • Persons with lived experiences

  • People residing in Canada.

A report on key findings will be published by Health Canada in Spring 2025.


 

The primary reasons for patients submitting track 2 MAID requests from March 17, 2021, to September 17, 2021, were:


  • chronic pain syndromes, affecting 28 patients (51.9%), and

  • complex chronic conditions such as myalgic encephalomyelitis or chronic fatigue syndrome, affecting 8 patients (14.8%).
