2024 Budget Consultation Update!

We have great news to share! This year marks the third consecutive year to have an ME specific recommendation placed in the Provincial Government’s Budget Consultation report!

This is a community win!

On August 3rd, 2023, the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services released its Report on the Budget 2024 Consultation. This report is the result of an annual public consultation process which we know many of you participated in. A clear recommendation for ME is stated:

What happens next?

For the past three years, we have coordinated a strategic approach to building awareness to the provincial government. The ME/FM Society’s Advocacy Committee and the MLA and ME program steadily builds awareness and relationships with decision makers and government representatives.

These recommendations move to Cabinet for consideration and budget finalization. We now have three years of building momentum. The Society's ME Advocates will highlight Recommendation #80 to MLAs and our other government relationships so ME is at the forefront of discussions for budget inclusion.

Thank you!

To our ongoing committee advocates and volunteers, and to our community members who participated this year, thank you for spending your precious energy to work together with us. Advocacy momentum takes strategy, commitment and time - your voice matters! Thank you for your commitment and we hope you also share this win with pride.

Rest well, and let’s keep the momentum going!
